- ACAM AWARDS 2007
Federico Miranda won the following categories on the last edition on the ACAM Awards celebrated on May 28th, 2007: "Progressive music author of the year" and "Best international-exposed artist". Federico was nominated along with another musicians such as Juan Pablo Calvo, Israel Azofeifa, Carlos Moya, Tapón and 5cero6. The Asociation of Musical Composers & Authors (ACAM), is an association built by the will of the nation music authors with the objective of promote the rights of the music. Actually, it has more than 1300 associates. ACAM Awards, were created on 1999, in order to promote the creation and production of music on Costa Rica. Congratulations to all the winners on this last Fifth edition!

Miranda -guitar - MUSIC FOR THE LEATHERBACK TURTLES IN SCHOOLS, PRESENTED BY TOYOTA A tour through high schools in San Jose is currently active where Federico and the music from Baula Project, together with the Marviva Organization take a message of conservation of leatherback turtles to young students. The presentation includes a speech by a Marviva associate, a video presentation about the Leatherback turtles in Guanacaste, and concludes with a live concert. This tour will reach five schools and is presented by Toyota with the support by Marviva and Bansbach musical instruments.
Federico will be on a 4 date tour as part of the group Oxygene8. The group is made of : Linda Cushma (Stick & vocals), Kiko King (drums), Claudio Cordero (guitar), Guillermo Cides (Stick), and Federico on guitar. The 'Federico Miranda & Baula Project' recording is ready. The recording is now complete and finished mixing completely, and the audio will be 'mastered' next week. The cd will be released in late september and contains 11 tracks , 10 original compositions and a new version of the 'Concierto de Aranjuez' by Joaquin Rodrigo. It was recorded and produced by Walter Flores (Grammy winner with Ruben Blades) The musicians on the project are: Mario Alvarez (bass), Gilberto Jarquín (drums), Carlos 'Tapado' Vargas (guest percussionist), Walter Flores (piano), and Federico Miranda (guitarist and composer).

- Gandhi releases new single 'Sr. Caballero' and makes video against violence and illegal firearm traffic in Central America. The song 'Sr. Caballero' is now playing on radiostations and the video will be released the 18 of april in 'Meridiano al Este'. The video was made in 35 mm film, and directed by Marcos Blanco (jbq).
- Gandhi on tour in Atlanta, GA. US from the May 2 to 9. Gandhi will give 4 concerts including dates in the 'Mambo Room' and the 'Masquerade'.
- Bandatón: band contest. Gandhi and radio 979 are now selecting new bands for the contest. Prizes include professional recording of songs and making of videos, and products from sponsors. Gandhi bandmembers will prepare and select bands to perform live, and the audience will vote and select winners. Groups interested in participating should take a CD with 2 songs performed and recorded (demo or rehearsal is ok, no quality restraints here) to the building of radio 979. Concerts and selections will be made in May.
